“Learn to be alone and like it. There is nothing more freeing and empowering than learning to like your own company.” - Mandy Hale

Amen to learning to like your own company. Amen to being brave enough to spend time alone and be okay with it.

It’s taken me quite some time to be okay with being alone and in my own company. But once I realized that I, alone, was enough, then my fear of being alone subsided. I now marvel that I can be alone and be good with it.

My friend Bob Roth sent me that quote from author Mandy Hale the other day. He actually sends me all kinds of quotes, poems, and reflections each day—yes, every single day. Bob is that kind of friend. He is also my meditation teacher and the CEO of the amazing David Lynch Foundation, which works to bring transcendental meditation to people from all walks of life who need it: children in poor schools, doctors and nurses working on the frontlines of our healthcare system, police officers, victims of domestic violence, mothers, fathers, and more. Bob helps anyone who comes to him looking for help. He’s just that kind of guy. (And by the way, you can join Bob in his daily free meditation sessions—thousands already do.)
