February 24 marks the one-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. As we pray for the horrifying war to end soon, we are sharing ways to continue helping the people in Ukraine. The Sunday Paper gathered a short list of organizations you can support. And we encourage you to share other architects of change in the comments.

World Central Kitchen: WCK are supporting frontline communities in eastern and southern Ukraine where there’s an urgent need for food. Last year, Maria interviewed WCK founder Chef José Andrés when he was on the ground in Poland and Ukraine delivering meals and supplies. The conversation garnered over $56,000 in donations, and received recognition from The Anthem Award. The Kyiv School of Economics’s humanitarian aid campaign focuses on purchasing medications, first aid, and protective kits for the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Paramedic Association, and the Ukrainian Territorial Defence Forces.

Nova Ukraine is on a mission to evacuate refugees from occupied zones. Risking potential arrest, Nova Ukraine is helping refugees travel to Latvia, Estonia, and other destinations in Europe to prevent forced relocation into Russian territory.

Kindergartens and maternity hospitals, where families seek safety, are becoming targets in the war. Voice of Children finds shelters for people and provides psychological support to families with children.
