The Olympic Games return this week after a mere six month break since the international competition's Summer Games. The XXIV Olympic Winter Games will take place in Beijing, and the world is gearing up to cheer on their country's delegations. There is, perhaps, no other world event that brings the international community together in a spirit of support and camaraderie quite like the historic Olympiad, and for that excitement and opportunity to cheer we say 'Yippee!”

Tune in to the Opening Ceremony on Friday, February 4 and read about which members of Team USA to keep an eye out for in USA Today.

Editor's Note: Every week, The Sunday Paper's team of journalists sift through the news to find what Rises Above the Noise, makes sense of what's happening in the world, and provides hope for your week to come. While we do our best to provide our own informative summary of each piece, some publications require their own subscriptions beyond our control.
