Sunday Paper Recommends—Week of February 5, 2023
At The Sunday Paper, we want to inspire you to gather at your table—virtually or with friends and family—and open your heart and mind to conversations that will move the needle. After all, the dinner table is where we connect on topics and map out the changes we can all make that’ll truly make an impact.
This week, to encourage your conversations, we recommend checking out the following:
What We're Reading
Our Sunday Paper family Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt’s newest children’s book Good Night, Sister will be released this week on February 7th! It's a story that celebrates the power, tenderness, and beauty of sisterhood. Good Night, Sister offers young readers, as well as those of all ages, inspiring wisdom and celebrates the people in our lives who help us overcome our fears. Pre-order your copy here.
What We're Excited For
NBA legend Bill Russell passed away last July, but his legacy will live on. We can’t wait to watch biographical documentary Bill Russell: Legend on February 8th! A legend on and off-court, Russell won 11 championships and marched with Martin Luther King to break the cycle of injustice in our country and move humanity forward. See below for the trailer.
What We're Listening To
Podcast All the Wiser interviews architects of change who have extraordinary stories about survival, grief, and love to tell. It is on a mission to change the world one interview at a time. Additionally, the podcast makes charitable donations to organizations for every episode made. Listen to the inspiring stories and support the cause here.
When being overwhelmed by hate speech and contempt, it is challenging to have fearless and meaningful conversations about race. NPR’s podcast Code Switch creates a space where journalists of color initiate healthy and humorous conversations about the effect of race on different aspects of our lives.
