At The Sunday Paper, we often discover books, podcasts, films, and other works that move the needle and spark inspiring change. This week, we are thrilled to hand the mic again to our Sunday Paper Plus readers! Our thanks to Christine, Bonnie, and Barri for their recommendations. We hope what they suggest below opens your heart and mind.

What Barri Is Reading

We've been hearing about the memoir Here After by Amy Lin, so we knew when Barri recommended it to us it was a sign to dive in its pages. The first book for Lin, this memoir tells of the author's journey from partnership and happiness to unexpected loss and grief. She shares about her life with her partner, the deep hole his loss created, and what grieving means for her. It is a powerful book about the self, the heart, and the journey through this one wild life.

What Bonnie Is Listening to

Cognitive scientist Maya Shankar has an unparalleled knack for storytelling and interviewing, which is on full display in her podcast "A Slight Change of Plans." She interviews brilliant minds in health, science, journalism, pop culture, arts, and everyday life, from Riz Ahmed to Adam Grant to Richard Harris. As Shanker says, this is a show that illustrates "who we are and what we become in the face of big change." Thanks for the rec, Bonnie!

What Christine Is Watching

The thriller Mr. Bates vs. The Post Office is so brash and wild that it's hard to believe it's based on a true story. The series takes you through the saga of when the UK Post Office blamed its workers for the mysterious loss of money when, in fact, it was a glitch in the corrupt computer system. This corrupt oversight ruined hardworking people's lives and reputations. We're thrilled Christine recommended this series, which sheds light on justice, wrongful doings, and conviction.
