When Rhea Perlman and Danny DeVito announced their separation for the first time in 2012, they took a different next step than many couples who decide to part ways: They never officially divorced.

In a recent interview with People, the “Cheers” star, 74, talked about both her legendary career and marriage to DeVito, 77. “Sometimes I wish we were still together because those were the glory days,” Perlman said. “But these are other kinds of glory days.”

This story is a beautiful reminder of all the different ways love can look—and how even when a formal relationship ends, it doesn’t mean the love can’t continue.
