We Lovingly Remember the Victims of the Robb Elementary School Shooting—And Encourage You to Take Action
They were vibrant souls. The fourth-grade teachers were dedicated educators and mothers themselves. The students, who ranged from ages 9 to 11, were budding athletes and music lovers and artists and sisters and brothers and honor roll students and rays of light.
And they were all daughters and sons.
We honor each one of the at-least 19 students and two teachers who died in the senseless act of violence at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. They were:
Eva Mireles, 44
Irma Garcia, 48
Xavier Lopez, 10
Tess Mata, 10
Eliahana Cruz Torres, 10
Rojelio Torres, 10
Layla Salazar, 10
Jacklyn Cazares, 9
Alithia Ramirez, 10
Jose Flores, 10
Alexandria ‘Lexi’ Rubio, 10
Uziyah Garcia, 10
Makenna Lee Elrod, 10
Jailah Nicole Silguero, 10
Miranda Mathis, 11
Maite Rodriguez, 10
Amerie Jo Garza, 10
Annabelle Rodriguez, 10
Jayce Luevanos, 10
Our prayers and hearts are with their families.
We also want to honor the husband of Irma Garcia, Joe Garcia, who died of a heart attack on Thursday following his wife's death. The Garcia family say that Joe died of a broken heart. The couple leave behind four children.
Let’s please all honor them by never, ever giving up. This is the time for action. Every one of us can be part of the movement to make meaningful change. We encourage you to watch this powerful message on gun reform given by Jimmy Kimmel. As Kimmel says, "This is a time to be loud and to stay loud."
