Too often, the topic of suicide hides in the shadows, unaddressed and unacknowledged. In addition to learning the warning signs and risk factors, it’s important to know how to broach the topic of mental health and suicide with someone you sense is struggling. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Talk Away the Dark campaign encourages real, open and honest conversations by offering conversation guides that help you start (and continue!) a conversation about mental health with someone you care about.

Visit The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s website for these resources and remember, talking is the first step to preventing suicide.
