I took a walk this week off the beaten path. My destination? Nowhere in particular.

I love to walk, and I especially love to walk in nature. I love to listen to the sound of birds, and if I’m lucky, the water in a nearby creek. I notice the trees, the sky, and the air as I meander about. I can even see my breath. Depending on the time of day, I also notice the sunrise or the sunset.

Nature moves me. It grounds me, it settles me, and it helps me get above the chatter and noise so that I can reach that special place in all of us where thoughts just pass through, and then there is nothing.
