The rain pounded down. The air was Christmas cold: damp, chilly, windy. And the fog—well, it was so dense one could barely see ten feet in front of them.

And yet, despite all that, the weather inside of me was sunny and clear.

As I buckled my seatbelt on the plane taking me back from our nation’s capital to California, I closed my eyes to reflect on the two back-to-back events I attended at the White House this week.
