Karen Meyers is giving animals a final gift, helping them transition to heaven peacefully and pain-free. After a successful career as veterinarian for more than two decades, Meyer decided to shift her focus to pet-euthanasia full time four years ago. Having been surrounded by a menagerie of animals her whole life, she is able to empathize with the deep sadness families experience when losing an animal they love. Pets are our companions, our emotional support animals, and members of our families.

Meyers compassionately walks families through the procedure, ensuring their loved ones won’t have to endure any pain. Some of the animals Meyers has treated have been with their owners since childhood, some have traveled the world with them, and some were their owner’s sole companion. After four years, Meyers has helped 1,500 animals peacefully go to heaven.

During her time as a veterinarian, she found that in-home pet euthanasia was a more humane process for suffering animals and their concerned owners. Lap of Love is a company that provides veterinarian referrals for at-home pet euthanasia. In collaboration with Lap of Love, Meyers travels the D.C. region, offering grieving families’ animals a good death, the true meaning of euthanasia. We all know the heartbreak of losing an animal close to all our hearts, Karen Meyers is helping them gain their wings.
