“Explore your pain because that’s where your purpose lies,” a teacher recently said to me. “Meet what you mirror. Go inside, rummage about, get clear, and get centered. Then move out and make our world better.”

Part of my mission here at The Sunday Paper is to share lessons from the various teachers I meet in my life. I like to see everyone as a teacher because everyone I meet leaves me with some sort of concept or idea worth thinking about. So often these teachings find their way into my essays, my speeches, and the reports I do on television. They also shape the way I lead my life.
